National Anthem of the Russian Federation |
 The anthem is a solemn song eulogizing and glorifying someone or something. The anthem of Russia is the official state symbol, same as the emblem and the flag.
The lyrics for the anthem were written by Sergey Mikhalkov (born in 1913), and the music was composed by Alexander Aleksandrov (1883-1946). The anthem was approved by the Law On the National Anthem of the Russian Federation issued on December 8, 2000. The law sets forth the National Anthem of the Russian Federation, its description, and the procedure for official use.
During the official performance of the National anthem of the Russian Federation, all those present stand up to listen to it, and men take off their headgear.
If the performance of the National anthem of the Russian Federation is accompanied by raising of the National flag of the Russian Federation, all those present should look in the direction of the flag.
